My Language Beliefs

What do you believe in language. I believe language makes you. "YOU"!! Language is nothing to be ashamed of. The way you speak and what you speak is you. It shows what you learned and maybe How you learned.

I have been in a speech contest recently. The audience believed that I was very intellegent because I spoke appropiately and proper. But when I am around my friends or people that knows me very well I tend to speak more loosely or as others will call it slang or just plain ebonics.
